With ‘Colouring’ Anne de Grijff adds a new chapter to her archive.
Amsterdam, December 7th 2016 – In the new Office space of Press Only (Unfold Venue), the presentation ‘Come Around’ of the new collection took place. For the presentation Anne de Grijff invited a select group of guests to come by and join her at her dinner table where her ‘characters’ presented the new collection ‘Colouring’.
In ‘Colouring’ the focus is upon the interaction between colours, instead of using only black. This contributes to a greater diversity in the whole archive. The use of colour is not new for de Grijff. In her collection ‘Hidden Colour’ (2012) a lot of beautiful and rich colours appeared after dissecting black with a bleaching technique. To give them their hidden character back, Anne de Grijff put them in between layers of black fabric. When a wearer is moving, a small edge of colour suddenly appears. In her collection ‘Slow Forward’ (2013), these colours became the main focus. There she only worked with the new colours that resulted from the bleaching process like dark brown, yellowing tones, red and beige.
With ‘Colouring’ de Grijff also makes a next step in her designs. Her signature use of covering and revealing layers and lines is even stronger because of the new geometric details. The collection is made from luxurious materials like pure wool and thin silks.
