ANNE DE GRIJFF started her ready-to-wear label in 2008. The label is known for its conceptually inspired designs, that are both radically modern and timelessly elegant. Her design process typically starts off with a systemic graphic pattern, which is then thoroughly examined and interrupted. Occurring imperfections and irregularities are nurtured and elevated. Her work is a constant play between veiling, unveiling and covering again what has just been exposed. It results in an aesthetic that is characterized by ingenious cutting, folding and layering techniques, creating volumes and exposing color in movement. Design after design, collection after collection, she strives for that fragile perfect balance between complexity and clarity.
ANNE DE GRIJFF presents her work through film, installations and intimate salon presentations. Her work has been shown in a number of international exhibitions and the ANNE DE GRIJFF label was sold at key retailers worldwide.
In 2014 ANNE DE GRIJFF introduced a new approach to her label. In essence she reconsiders the fashion system by putting the wearer of her designs at the center of the brand, and most notably the brand’s communication. These striking people who recognize the quality of her work and collect her pieces actually come to personify her brand as ‘characters’. All new designs that are presented are an expansion of a permanent, non- seasonal collection and are made-to-measure in collaboration with the wearer.
